Hi, I'm Shan

I have been an instructor studying and learning the Pilates Method for over 22 years.

 

I completed the teacher training program with Pilates Bodyworks in Singapore from the year 2000 to 2006. Pilates Bodyworks was owned by my father Alvin Giam, it was the first and largest Pilates studio to open in Asia over 14 years  ago. This was an intensive apprenticeship program teaching on all the Pilates apparatus and mat work, the certification is recognised by the PMA-Pilates Method Alliance.

 

I was also teaching for Pilates Bodyworks during this time and had the privilege of travelling together with my father through America studying with Masters in the Pilates Method.

I completed the Level 1 and Level 2 Core Dynamics teacher training program with Michele Larsson in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the year 2006. Later in 2006 I completed the Towel teacher training program with the Ron Fletcher company in Singapore. I have attended various workshops conducted by Ron Fletcher and Patricia Guyton in Singapore hosted by Pilates Bodyworks, from the year 2004 to 2006.

In 2011 I attended and completed the Pilates teacher training certification intensive courses for Pelvic Floor and Pre and Post Natal exercise hosted by Carolyne Anthony, Centre for Womens Fitness, USA. To further my knowledge of the Pilates Reformer work I also completed the STOTT PILATES Athletic conditioning on the reformer workshop, and the STOTT PILATES Jumpboard Interval Training workshop.

I also completed the  Level 1 teacher certification on the Powerplate and I am excited to share with you all I have learnt throughout my years of study.

Some of my high profile clients which I had the pleasure of teaching included Lisa Ho and her family, Channel 7 News TV Presenter Chris Bath, and Natalie Michaels.

​

My teaching and practice is focused on helping my clients achieve healthier bodies and minds. I offer Private Pilates on the reformer in the comfort of my own home, including Jumpboard and Powerplate for those that like more of a cardio workout. I will tailor your workout to what you would like to achieve. I also do Pre and Post Natal Pilates on the reformer. As a mother of 3 young children I understand how difficult it is to find the time to exercise, so I am more than happy to hold your baby or your kids are welcome to watch a dvd or play in our kids playroom while you workout.
